What’s up? attempts to change the time limit users must delete a message that they send and plan to other people Extend 2 days up to 12 hours on Android devices.

Currently, the instant messaging app allows users to delete messages within one hour, eight minutes and 16 seconds after sending them using the ‘Delete all’ option.

As confirmed by WABetaInfo in the new 2.22.15.8 update released via WhatsApp’s Android Google Play beta program, the company has increased this time limit fivefold.

Specifically, some users of the beta version of WhatsApp have 2 days and 12 hours to delete a message for themselves or the people they interact with.

This portal shows that the messaging app is currently making this feature available to some testers. It is unknown when it will reach its entire user base.

This isn’t the first time WhatsApp has implemented a similar measure of deleting messages after a certain period of time, as it recently made a number of changes to its group chats.

Group admins will now be able to delete a message for all participants and know who is responsible for deleting that message via a notification.
