Horse alley surrounded by columns found in Turkish resort 14:44

During the archaeological excavations carried out in the Hızırlık tower, an 800-meter-long equestrian street surrounded by columns was discovered. This was reported by Arkeonews.

Hıdırlık Tower is one of the historical symbols of Turkey’s holiday resort Antalya. It was built from yellow-brown stone blocks in the late 2nd century AD and was part of the city walls. The tower underwent extensive restoration during the Seljuk period and then during the Ottoman Empire. The function of this object is still a mystery. It is thought to be the tomb of an important historical figure. This is shown by fragments of surviving frescoes and carvings.

Now scientists have discovered a Roman-era street surrounded by columns next to the tower. Its length is estimated to be 800 meters. Approximately 100 meters have been excavated to date. In the future, the objects found here will be visible through glass and wooden paths will be laid for tourists to the excavation area.

Formerly the villa of the founder of the Roman Empire to create Japanese archaeologists.
