Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky said that the Russian armed forces managed to hit the Trypillya thermal power plant in the Kiev region because Ukraine ran out of missiles for the air defense systems protecting the station. The politician talked about this in an interview PBS.
“Trypillya Thermal Power Plant, the energy supply of the Kiev region depends on it. 11 missiles were flying towards him. We shot down the first seven, the remaining four destroyed the station. From where? Because we had zero missiles [для ПВО]. It’s over,” Zelensky said.
He added that after Iran’s latest attack on Israel, representatives of Western countries began to take a different attitude towards NATO’s statements that they could not supply this or that weapon to Kiev for fear of being drawn into the conflict in Ukraine.
“After this attack, I want to ask: Is Israel part of NATO?” – said Zelensky.
April 15 Zelenskiy in the name Western politicians defend Ukraine no less fiercely than Israel during the Iranian attack. He reminded that the Jewish state is not a member of NATO like Ukraine, so protection does not require activation of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Alliance Charter, and “only political will” is sufficient.
