NATO may start coordinating arms supplies to Ukraine instead of the Pentagon 04/02/2024, 23:30

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will propose at the upcoming alliance summit in the USA that the management of the contact group for military assistance be transferred under NATO control to Kiev, which is currently managed by the Pentagon. This was reported by Bloomberg.

According to the agency, part of Stoltenberg’s proposal package includes transferring to NATO the operational activities of the US-led Ukraine Contact Group, which coordinates arms supplies from nearly 50 countries.

The Bloomberg article states that transferring leadership of this group to Supreme Allied Commander Europe Christopher Cavoli will protect the contact group from any political changes after the US presidential election in November.
