A state of emergency was declared in 60 counties in the US state of Texas due to forest fires. This was reported on state Governor Greg Abbott’s website. TASS.

“Today, I declared a state of emergency to ensure the rapid mobilization of the necessary resources to eliminate the consequences. <...> devastating wildfires,” said Abbott.

It was emphasized that the risk of fire in fire areas may increase in dry and windy weather in the coming days.

Texas’ Hutchinson County, which includes the towns of Borger and Fritsch, is facing a “disaster” as fires cause extensive damage to homes and businesses, as well as power outages and water outages, CNN reported.
