Malaysian MP Explains How Floods Will Increase Tourist Influx

Malaysian Deputy Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz claimed that the recent floods that have affected the country will lead to an increase in volunteer-related tourism. This has been reported Channel News Asia.

The parliamentarian also compared the situation to the consequences of earthquakes in Haiti and said there was “nothing new” in his views.

“When our money goes down, it’s time we promote tourism because it becomes cheap for foreigners. “Singaporeans will come because our expensive hotels are so cheap for them that they will only spend a third of their salary,” he said.

He also added that he hopes for the growth of domestic tourism in the flood-affected region and hopes for the “empathy of Malaysian youth”.

Prior to that, Abdul Aziz served as the Malaysian Minister of Tourism.

Previously, scientists named countries. in danger of extinction.
