Ukrainian General Karpenko reported losing half of the heavy weapons

The head of logistics of the Ukrainian ground forces command, General Volodymyr Karpenko, in an interview with the National Defense magazine, said that about 50% of heavy weapons were lost in battles.

“I’m only talking about heavy weapons. Today, as a result of active battles, we have about 30-40 and sometimes up to 50% equipment losses. Thus, we lost about 50%. … About 1,300 infantry fighting vehicles, 400 tanks, 700 artillery systems were lost,” he said.

The general noted that Ukraine received a “large amount” of weapons, but according to him, the Ukrainian forces met 10-15% of their needs.

“We need artillery, we need artillery, we need infantry fighting vehicles, combat vehicles, tanks. We really need air defense systems and a multi-barreled rocket launcher system,” he said, adding that “the length of the front line is 2,500 kilometers, and the front line where active conflicts take place is more than 1000 kilometers.”

Karpenko noted that today the total number of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, territorial defense and security forces is “up to one million people”, which must be “provided with small arms, personal protective equipment and communications equipment.”

The previous day, the head of the Ukrainian delegation in talks with Russia, Rada deputy David Arakhamia, who visited Washington said About the heavy losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). According to the parliament, “up to a thousand soldiers were killed and wounded” by Ukrainian troops every day in the Donbas.
