“The enemy is resourceful and cunning.” What to expect from the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the New Year’s holidays Colonel Khodarenok expects the Armed Forces of Ukraine to hit the targets of the Armed Forces of Russia on New Year’s Eve 29.12.2023, 14:25

Let’s remember that there are precedents for attacks on Russian troops on New Year’s Eve. Especially on the night between December 31, 2022 and January 1, 2023, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the vocational school building number 19 on Kremlevskaya Street in Makeevka in the DPR. The distance from the front edge to the building was only 14 km.

At least four M142 HIMARS MLRS shells hit the vocational school at midnight. In addition to the explosions in the actual warheads of the MLRS missiles, there was also an explosion in the ammunition stored in the vocational training facility. All this led to the complete destruction of the building and the death on New Year’s Eve of a large number of military personnel concentrated in this vocational school.

It is also worth noting that the personnel of the M142 HIMARS facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the combat teams of this MLRS, who participated in the attack on the vocational training school in Makeyevka, were decorated with New Year’s paraphernalia.

There is no doubt for a moment that the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine plans to repeat similar actions on the upcoming New Year’s Eve. The question arises: attacks of which targets of the RF Armed Forces are primarily evaluated by experts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In this regard, for Kiev, not only the equipment and personnel losses caused by the RF Armed Forces are of great importance, but also the repercussion that the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces can cause in Russian society. New Year’s Eve will definitely have an additional impact in this regard.

What objects can be hit?

It is quite possible that it is attacks on checkpoints (The death of the leadership always causes an extremely painful reaction in the army and the population), VKS airports and army aviation bases, naval bases (mainly for large surface ships). Other options are also possible – fuel storage facilities, energy, infrastructure (bridges and especially the Crimean Bridge). The actions of sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the rear of Russian troops cannot be ignored.

In this situation, a completely natural question arises: what to do? In general, all possible measures to be taken in such a situation have long been known. First of all, all types of reconnaissance, strengthening the security and defense of the most important facilities, maximizing the number of forces and assets performing combat missions in the air defense forces, distributing ammunition and material stocks if possible, transferring operational-tactical aircraft (helicopters) and army aviation to deployment airfields (sites). ) transportation.

Finally, unnecessary personnel accumulation should not be allowed within the range of enemy MLRS and cruise missiles on New Year’s Eve.

Particular attention should be paid to the coating of large surface ships of the Black Sea Fleet located at bases.

It cannot even be assumed that Black Sea Fleet ships are relatively safe, no matter where they are in their anchorages (or piers) in the Black Sea water area hit by anti-ship missiles.

Moreover, it is quite Massive attacks of unmanned boats of the Ukrainian Navy are possible. By the way, there has been no such attack recently, and it is quite possible that the enemy is preparing a major attack (that is, the necessary reserves of such weapons are being created in advance). And our ships can reach our ships in Novorossiysk, Tuapse and all other bases on the Caucasus coast of the Black Sea. Let us remind you once again that effective attacks (sinkings) on ships have great repercussions in society. And this is certainly what the enemy has in mind.

Therefore, we must always remember that the enemy is creative, proactive and cunning and is probably preparing painful attacks on units and facilities of the Russian Armed Forces next New Year’s Eve.
