Russians most often dream of cleaning the house (47%), washing dishes (31%), giving up small household chores – from nailing shelves to repairing faucets (29%) and cooking (25%). This is shown by a study by Avito Services, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.
In Nizhny Novgorod (57%), Yekaterinburg (53%) and Omsk (53%), most people dream of giving up cleaning. Moreover, two thirds of respondents (66%) are ready to pay up to 5 thousand rubles per month for cleaning an apartment, and every fifth (22%) are ready to pay up to 15 thousand rubles per month.
Another least favorite activity is washing dishes. Of those who are ready to transfer it, almost every second (43%) is ready to pay up to 1 thousand rubles per month, and every quarter – up to 3 thousand rubles per month.
In this context, interest in cleaning experts is increasing. This fall, compared to September-November 2022, demand for them increased by 61%. At the same time, demand for general cleaning services, which can include dishwashing, increased by 44% year-on-year. And the average bill for these services was 1 thousand rubles for cleaning one room.
29 percent of Russians want to delegate minor household chores to hired specialists. 75 percent of them are ready to pay up to 5 thousand rubles a month for nailing shelves, repairing the faucet, changing the filter and other household chores without any problems and on the first request. Every sixth (16%) of respondents can afford to spend from 5 to 15 thousand rubles a month on such needs. At the same time, the demand for hourly handymen ready to help with such small household tasks increased by 76% during the year. The average cost of their services starts from 300 rubles per hour and may increase depending on the complexity and urgency of the work.
One in four Russians (25%) want to quit cooking. People like cooking most in Krasnoyarsk (36%), Rostov-on-Don (31%) and Ufa (30%). To never cook again, 68 percent of Russians are ready to pay up to 5 thousand rubles a month, and 18 percent are ready to pay up to 15 thousand rubles a month. Meanwhile, the demand for ready meal delivery has increased by 85 percent compared to last year, and the average bill ranges from 285 rubles per meal to 30-40 thousand rubles per month for three meals a day.
13% of Russians want to give primary responsibility for child care to specialists. For this type of help, Russians are ready to pay the most – almost a third (28% of respondents) are ready to pay 15 thousand rubles per month for nanny services, 30 thousand rubles – 14% of respondents. At the same time, 5 percent of Russians agree to pay any amount of money to nannies and babysitters to relieve some of the duties associated with caring for children.
Against this background, demand for nannies increased by more than a quarter (+26%) on an annual basis. On average throughout the country, the services of such nannies cost 250 rubles per hour. But depending on the specialist’s experience and list of services, the price of an hour of work for a nanny can vary greatly.
61% of survey respondents have never tried to delegate household chores to others in exchange for money. Among the 39% of respondents who had already entrusted their household chores to professionals, a quarter (25%) had already hired handymen to solve minor household chores, and 8% of respondents had handed over cleaning responsibilities to cleaners.
