The statement said, “9 police officers were injured.”
Two of them required hospitalization for elbow fractures and suspected hip dislocations, according to the agency. Additionally, some of the fireworks launched hit the faces of some security forces.
“Police officers were injured when they prevented a violent crowd from reaching the Cenotaph monument during the commemoration ceremony,” police said.
