The capital’s Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo airports temporarily suspended their operations. This was reported by TASS according to data from airports’ online scoreboards.
It was noted that 11 flights to Vnukovo were postponed and two more flights were cancelled. Five flights to Sheremetyevo were delayed and one was cancelled.
Now the capital’s airports have resumed their operations. According to the Flightradar24 service, all planes in the waiting area have started to land.
Before that, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reportedIt was stated that air defense forces repelled the attack of a drone flying towards Moscow.
He reported that a drone flying towards the capital was shot down. The politician said that according to preliminary data, there was no damage or loss of life where the drone debris fell.
Emergency service experts who arrived at the scene continue their work.
On the evening of October 6, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev statedthat the air defense system repelled an attack from the sea.
