A British woman tried to smuggle a centuries-old icon from Russia to Finland 13:29

Customs officers in Vyborg caught a British woman trying to smuggle a centuries-old icon to Finland. This has been reported “News” With reference to the press service of the North-West Customs Service.

An ancient icon was found in the luggage of a British citizen by customs officer employees at the Brusnichnoye international checkpoint; they did not have documents allowing the icon to be exported from Russia. The woman was traveling on a regular bus across the border into Finland.

After examination, it was revealed that this was the lining icon of “Lord Pantocrator”. It is over 100 years old and belongs to the category of items of cultural value.

An administrative offense case was filed against a British woman on the grounds that she attempted to export undeclared goods from the country.
