The press service of the government of the Russian Federation stated that citizens can send and withdraw consent to the processing of their biometric personal data in the Unified Biometric System, as well as access information on such consent in their personal accounts in the State. According to the new law, from June 1, biometric personal data can only be processed within the EBS. Banks and other entities that store biometrics are required to submit this data to EBS by September 30, 2023 and give customers 30 days’ notice.
