In Primorye, scammers persuaded an old woman to transfer all her savings to them, forcing them to sell apartments and summer houses. In this respect informs Press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A pensioner from Vladivostok lost his real estate and savings of 14.6 million rubles due to fraudsters. In February 2023, an unidentified man called the victim’s cell phone, posing as a police officer and telling the pensioner that the attackers were trying to steal savings from his bank account.
The 77-year-old woman was persuaded to withdraw the money and transfer it to other accounts. She took 2 million rubles from the card and sent it to the scammers. A few days later, the scammers called the woman again, forcing the pensioner to take a photo of her apartment, putting the property up for sale, and the proceeds again went to unknown accounts.
Similarly, the pensioner lost his second apartment and summer house for a total of 14.6 million rubles. Realizing that he was deceived, the victim applied to law enforcement, and a criminal case was filed for fraud.
Previously scammers received 650,000 rubles from a schoolboy when purchasing a promotional code in a game.
