Russia develops a new way to detect cancer

Petersburg State University (SPbGU) have managed to develop a method for detecting bladder or prostate cancer at an early stage that does not require surgical intervention. This has been reported TASS With reference to the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.

It is stated that the detection of these types of cancer is based on the open method of analysis of the integrative composition of urine.

“To do this, we analyze urine samples with a specially designed set of chemical sensors and process the results using machine learning methods,” said Dmitry Kirsanov, who works in the university’s Department of Analytical Chemistry.

It has been clarified that the advantages of the new method are the speed of application and the absence of the need to interfere with the activity of the body.

Earlier, Canadian scientists reported that forest fires increase the risk brain and lung cancer. Canadian university epidemiologists and analysts conducted a population-based study of over 2 million Canadians and analyzed statistics on cancer incidence and cancer deaths between 1996 and 2015.
