Additionally, Moscow has a higher proportion of hotels with ramps, elevators, large elevators, or toilets for guests with reduced mobility – St. 13% compared to 8% in St. Petersburg.
In total, according to 2GIS data, as of July 2023 there are 1,315 hotels in Moscow and 1,442 in St. Petersburg. Over the last 5 years, the number of hotels in Moscow has increased significantly – there are 31% more hotels than five years ago. The number of hotels in St. Petersburg is growing so noticeably – in five years the total number of hotels has increased by 5%.
According to the Othello reservation service, the average booking receipt in Moscow for July-August 2023 is 18,172 rubles, and St. Petersburg, 22,104 rubles. The average cost of a night in hotels in Moscow is 4,673 rubles, St. Petersburg – 5,169 rubles.
