Surgeons of the Balakovo City Clinical Hospital of the Saratov Region saved the life of a five-year-old girl who swallowed magnet beads. It has been reported Telegram– the channel of the medical institution.
The boy was with his parents in Moscow, the family came to support their eldest son, who entered the university. The girl complained to her mother of abdominal pain and weakness, but the woman decided that during rest her daughter did not eat properly, and gave her drugs to restore the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. After returning to Balakovo, the boy’s condition worsened, the girl admitted that in the hospital she swallowed magnets from the Neocube toy.
“The X-ray taken at the hospital confirmed the presence of metal beads in the girl’s small intestine. There was so much more than just the boy said. The loop that caused acute intestinal obstruction consisted of 36 parts, ”the doctors said.
Naturally, the magnets would not leave the body, an operation was required. Surgery took about an hour, all foreign bodies were removed, magnets caused bedsores in the colon wall and can cause intestinal perforation. Now the girl’s condition does not cause concern among doctors, she is recovering.
