From the Maldives to Sardinia, Rome, Menorca or Bhutan, luxury openings are made to every corner of the world by international groups and boutique chains.

Anantara Veli Maldives Resort

Officially inaugurated in January 2023, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort has started a very promising year for global luxury tourism. After a long renovation period, the resort offers 67 villas designed by Yuji Yamazaki, combining traditional tropical style with contemporary touches and with every comfort to enjoy your stay in the Asian archipelago.

Facilities also include Balance Wellness by Anantara, a spa where you can enjoy, among other things, Ayurvedic therapies, oceanfront meditation or massages; and a culinary proposition with gastronomic spaces that include everything from Japanese food to Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

Brown Island Chania Resort

The island of Crete has been chosen by Brown Hotels as its latest landing location: Isla Brown Chania. This accommodation has a total of 148 rooms and suites, most of which feature private pools, a spa and wellness centre, an area for children’s activities and a variety of gastronomic offerings along with many other services and amenities.

Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Isla Brown Chania is located in the northwest of the island, just 15 minutes from the city of Chania.

Bulgari Hotel Rome

In the heart of Rome, in Piazza Augusto Imperatore, Bulgari opened its second accommodation in Italy, Bulgari Hotel Roma, in June 2023. This 114-room hotel represents an important milestone for the company as it symbolizes the jewelery brand’s arrival in its hometown. Facilities such as 360º terrace with city view, spa or Italy’s first Bulgari Dolci chocolate and patisserie are offered to its guests.

Following this opening in the “Eternal City,” Bulgari plans to continue its international expansion with new openings in Miami and Maldives in 2025 and Los Angeles in 2026.

Hotel Son Vell

In the summer, Son Vell, the first Vestige hotel, opened its doors. Located in Menorca, just 20 minutes from Ciutadella and with easy access to the Camí de Cavalls, Son Vell features an elegant, original 18th-century manor house and 34 rooms and suites scattered among various outbuildings. The entire property has undergone a careful restoration and improvement process that has made it possible to preserve the identity of the buildings and the entire property on which the hotel is located.

Vestige plans to continue its expansion at the national level in regions such as Asturias, Extremadura or the Basque Country after the opening of this hotel, which joins the Palacio de Figueras, a property in private property format. The hotel group is working on future projects, envisioning adding 25 properties to the collection in the coming years, 12 in hotel format and 13 in private real estate format.

Beyond Punakha River Lodge

The last of this year’s most anticipated luxury openings will take place next September with the opening of &Beyond Punakha River Lodge in Bhutan.

&Beyond Punakha River Lodge is the first &Beyond resort in Asia and is located on the banks of the Mo Chu River in the Punakha Valley. This accommodation combines traditional Bhutanese style with modern touches and is inspired by the nature that surrounds it.
