Criminal case opened after the fire in the village of Shaydurikha, in the Sverdlovsk region 11:45

Sverdlovsk investigators opened a criminal case for causing death by negligence after the death of a person as a result of a fire in the village of Shaydurikha, Sverdlovsk region. This was reported in the regional department of the RF IC, reports DEA News.

It was stated that the case was filed on behalf of Anatoly Nadbitov, acting head of the regional TFR’s investigation department.

According to the IC, the deceased may have been a local resident previously listed as missing.

On the afternoon of July 12, fire from a crown forest fire spread to several buildings in Shaydurikha. Dry and windy weather combined with strong winds of up to 27 m per second contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. Village residents were evacuated, about 140 firefighters and 46 pieces of equipment and a helicopter belonging to the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia took part in the firefighting. A state of emergency has been declared until July 21 regarding the fire in the forests of the Nevyansk city district.
