liberation

The court’s conditional release order went into effect on May 12. The former official served his sentence at IK-1 in the Tver region. He served five and a half years in prison, out of eight court-appointed.

“Ulyukaev was taken from the colony in his old Range Rover, it was stated in the car’s last declaration in 2015,” said RIA Novosti. The vehicle, in which Russia’s former Minister of Economic Development was located, was accompanied by a convoy of two cars without license plates.

Telegram channel Shot learned that a woman was waiting in the back seat of Ulyukaev’s car. Because of the color of the car, his face was not visible. Journalists released a video where the ex-con was kissing his friend, clinking glasses and having a drink.

The first wife of the former official was economist Tamara Usik, and the second – former researcher Yulia Khrapina. When Ulyukaev was already in the colony, there were reports in the media that he was divorcing Khrapina, but this information was not officially confirmed.

Soon Shot reported that his wife Yulia was sitting in the car with Ulyukaev. They came home – to an apartment in an elite residential complex located in the valley of the Setunsko-Ramensky Reserve in the Ramenki district of Moscow – “Golden Keys 2”.

The Moscow Tver District Court prohibited Ulyukaev from changing his place of residence without the permission of the Federal Penitentiary Service. In addition, the former minister will have to report to the supervisory authority once a month. In case of violation of the early release conditions, it can be returned to the colony.

Ulyukaev’s career and work

In 2000, Alexey Ulyukaev assumed the post of First Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Alexei Kudrin, and in 2004 he was transferred to the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to the position of First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Sergey Ignatiev. June 24, 2013 Ulyukaev headed the Ministry of Economic Development in the government of Dmitry Medvedev.

On November 14, 2016, he was detained by the Federal Security Service on suspicion of receiving a $2 million bribe from the management of the oil company Rosneft. Experts found traces of a special substance used in the hands of the minister to settle a case with money. The first case was handed over to an official at one of the company’s offices that day, and he was allegedly promised the second case would be brought to the vehicle.

According to the representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the money was “transferred to Ulyukaev for a positive assessment, which allowed PJSC NK Rosneft to conclude an agreement to purchase a state-owned stake in PJSC ANK Bashneft (50.08%). ” At the same time “The extortion came with threats to thwart Rosneft’s activities.

Ulyukaev pleaded not guilty. On November 15, 2016, the Basmanny Court of Moscow issued a decision on his arrest. He was then placed under house arrest in his apartment on Minskaya Street in Moscow.

On November 15, 2016, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Ulyukaev to resign due to loss of confidence. On December 15, 2017, the Moscow Zamoskvoretsky Court found Alexey Ulyukaev guilty.

He was sentenced to eight years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 130 million rubles. Also, according to the decision, the former minister was banned from serving in state offices and state institutions for eight years after serving his sentence. On April 12, 2018, the Moscow City Court, after considering the appeal, lifted the restriction on public office from the former minister for eight years after leaving the colony.

During his imprisonment in a penal colony in the Tver region, Ulyukaev worked in a library and also led a literary circle.

Alexei Ulyukaev, Russia’s former Minister of Economic Development, was released ahead of schedule from a colony after serving 5.5 years in prison. At the same time, the Tver District Court of Moscow forbade Ulyukaev to change his place of residence without the permission of the Federal Penitentiary Service. Ulyukaev did not talk to journalists, got into the Range Rover, following him, and went to the elite residential complex “Golden Keys 2”.
