Summary:
A small-town police station becomes a battleground between a professional killer, a smart rookie cop, and a con man who takes refuge behind bars with nowhere else to run. This claustrophobic action thriller is the first collaboration between Butler and Carnahan, who defines the film a bit as a film noir and a neo-feminist 70s western. Butler’s fascination with Game of Assassins dates back to 2015, when he first read drafts of the script, which featured a cat-and-mouse game between a con man and a hired killer sent to finish him off. Rounding out the cast are Frank Grillo (White Hell, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) as Teddy Murretto, a con man in mortal danger, and rookie cop Alexis Louder (Tomorrow’s War, Watchmen) with an insatiable thirst for justice.
