In return, he achieved third place in local competitions. “I had to quit because of the pandemic, I went back to athletics in a more professional way about 6-8 months ago. And this effort bore fruit. “I train three to four hours a day, and it’s very strenuous and tiring, but I’ve had my successes,” Ian proudly said.

During training, Ian plans to pursue a PhD to develop research on early cellular aging and disease prevention. Despite receiving offers from universities in the United States and Spain, he is now unsure where the next step will take him.

But his dreams are not limited to the possibility of doing something for science and humanity, envisions representing Mexico in international sports competitions. “I want to do a PhD. I am looking for the best option and at the same time I want to be a high performance athlete and even participate in the Olympic Games. I would love to,” he concluded.
