Sudanese army commander asks UN Secretary-General Guterres to change his country’s representative

Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the commander of the Sudanese army and head of the country’s Sovereignty Council, wanted to replace his country’s representative at the UN with António Guterres, the organization’s secretary-general. This post reported Al Jazeera Referring to al-Burhan’s letter to Guterres.

“The presence of Perthes at the head of the UN mission in Sudan is not conducive to the fulfillment of its duties and has had negative consequences for the UN,” the Sudanese army commander wrote in a letter.

Al-Bukhran said he believed that the special representative of the UN Secretary-General “misled the UN by claiming that there was a consensus among the Sudanese parties on a framework agreement for a solution in the country”.

Former Sudanese Ministry of Defense decided To call the service of reservists and officers not older than 65 years.

20 May reportedThe parties to the armed conflict in Sudan agreed on a seven-day humanitarian ceasefire. It was stated that the Sudanese army and the Emergency Response Forces (special forces) signed a humanitarian ceasefire agreement in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It will enter into force 48 hours after signing.
