Ludi disappeared in Barcelona: “I’m 81 years old, but I will call my sister until the end”

Her name is Luzdivina González, but at home they call her Ludi. She is 75 today, but she disappeared ten years ago. She left her home in Barcelona on May 13, 2013 wearing what she wore. I was running from something. In his mind, everything was threatening lately.

The same day the alarm went off, Ludi did not return. “We searched from the sea to the mountains,” says his brother, José María. “I can’t say how many because I didn’t have anything to measure but I was walking around. a lot of miles every day for the first two and a half years“,” account, “but nothing.” He’s been searching for his sister for ten years.

José Maria, “What happened?” he begins. “I must say I don’t knowBecause they didn’t tell me the details of it,” he complains. “I found out a few days later. I guess because of my age. Ten years passed, I was 71 then.“. José María goes back to those days, for the first time, together with CASO ABIERTO, the event and investigation portal of Prensa Ibérica.”I’ve been searching since I found out“. He didn’t stop doing that.

delusional disorder

“She left the house and didn’t come back.” without a clue launched an investigation, which is still open. “Ludi has disappeared, he’s not there. There’s no way to find him.” Her two daughters filed a complaint with her husband, Mossos d’Esquadra: the 65-year-old woman. She wore black pants and a white T-shirt embellished with orange flowers. You need medicine. He doesn’t carry it with him. ‘I’m going for a walk,’ she said as we left the house. He only had a few coins.

No arguments, no conflicts. His family had indeed noticed a change in the last few days: Ludi was frightened. “As soon as I found out, I called my other sister – there are five of us – and she told me about it.” Ludi recently described the scenes this way: “He said he was afraid the neighbors would die. They could throw flower pots at him when he looked out the window.“. José María also discovered that the warning system was on when he went out into the street and there were no neighbors in the doorway. “He was wary of people coming to see the electricity meters, for example. Or people I don’t know in general. People enter a destination even if they are not neighbors. People to visit one. He said: ‘What are they here for?'”.

José María describes how the strokes start off softly at the beginning. “The police, perhaps, did not assess the urgency, the high risk. My sister was diagnosed with delusional disorder, she was on medication. It was clear from her fears that she was going through a bad time. He was even hospitalized. No one understood the real situation or that such an outcome could happen,” she complains, “hit him hard and he ran.”

Montjuic and Plaza Catalunya

The family made many raids. “I remember walking countless miles.” Posters were printed and distributed. “We started looking at places we thought might be. My sister lived with another sister in Plaza Cataluña when she was younger., here we go. We were in the upper part of Barcelona because she worked as a domestic maid when she was younger.” inconclusive. “We went to Montjuic, to the mountain, and even looked inside a cave. We walked all the way from Viladecans to Badalona…”.

Without a break, without rest. “We found it complicated, because no questions and no data. I was at the police station a few times and they were nice to us but the same thing, with nothing. My sister wasn’t wearing anything.”

“Your sister came here to eat and ask for a job”

One day the phone rang. “It was a few months since he disappeared,” recalls José María. A young girl’s voice comes from the front, it is a foreign person. He barely spoke Spanish. He was talking to me about a photograph, a photograph…” José María concluded: The day before his sister left a wanted poster in the mailbox at a soup kitchen, The girl who called was talking about this warning. “It turned out to be a nun. She told us that Ludi was there for lunch and asked them for a job.” They ran to the soup kitchen.

“I was sure it was him. That nurse spoke to us with great compassion and invited us to come back in a few days, just in case she does.” For the next ten days, José María visited the center every afternoon. “He was there at two in the afternoon. Ludi never came back there…” he complains.

“He was here half an hour ago”

Search energy increased. The story given by the nun, the police and the family gave the recipe as if it were real. “I remember a short time later we decided to go to a health center. We had a sign, we left it at the entrance, and the cleaning lady told us ‘I know this lady, she’s been here with me for half an hour.‘. She described the color of her hair, the characteristic curl she had, a slight limp from pain in one knee. My brother-in-law confirmed all the details the woman gave us.. But the woman the cleaner had described was long gone. If I had a sister, she was gone.”

The final return to the heart was in José María. holy family. “There was a lady who asked with her head down. I thought you might be my sister. Moreover, in that area there were also symptoms. I threw a coin into the glass in my hand and looked up.” It wasn’t him.

After that, more clues came. “In different places, close to the cathedral, in an old people’s centre: ‘Yes, this woman is gone. She passed by here the other day.’ But who guarantees that? It’s very difficult.” Calls ended, calls stopped. Everything is silence. “I know everything has stopped right now. The mosses have stopped searching, but it’s hard to search without clues, I get that.”

José María is also part of the board of the Intersos association to help other missing families. OPEN STATUS

José María can no longer travel blindly, miles without limits, as before. Therefore, surf (and somehow walk) social networks. “I share the warning, citizen collaboration is really important.”

If you travel, if you go out on the street, you stop before the homeless. He is looking at them. It could be Ludi. “I met a man who lived on the street. He was in Murcia for a while, he was also on the street and came back to Barcelona. Maybe it will happen to my brother too. strong, my sister won’t go hungry“.

Ludi is a familiar, pleasant, calm, friendly life. “He focused on his wife, his daughters, his home. He never had a problem with anyone.” They’ve been waiting for him for ten years. “I am 81 years old and although I am not I am almost convinced that I will never see him again, and I will not stop looking for him until the end.. I don’t think people are missing. They were relocated. A coin may be, but one doesn’t disappear, it’s too big…” José María, after finishing this conversation, turns on his computer: “Where are you?” he asks, uploading another photo on social networks: “where will you be bro”.
