Roskomnadzor blocked the website of the creators of STALKER 2 studio GSC Game World
Roskomnadzor has added the GSC Game World studio’s website to its Registry of Prohibited Substances. It follows from the entry in the register that access to the site is restricted at the request of the Attorney General.
The developers’ site is blocked under Section 15.3 of the Federal Law “Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection”. It regulates the procedure for restricting access to sites that contain calls for riots, extremist activities or participation in illegal public events.
An appeal regarding the situation in Ukraine was posted on the main page of the site. Earlier, the makers announced that they refused to sell their games in Russia. At the same time, the studio stopped accepting pre-orders for STALKER 2, but players who managed to place it in the digital store will receive a copy of the game.
The release of STALKER 2 was scheduled for April 28, 2022. At the beginning of the year, the studio announced that the game would not be released next spring and mentioned a new date – December 28. Later, GSC told Game World about the cessation of development, and there was also information about plans to move the studio to the Czech Republic.
