Former US intelligence official says Biden will try to win Europe to his side
During his visit to Europe, US President Joe Biden will try to win over European leaders. The purpose of the politician’s visit to the countries of the European Union (EU) has been mentioned by former US intelligence officer Scott Bennett, Izvestia reports.
“It is clear that the Biden administration understands that the US authorities are gradually losing the support of the Europeans, who are already noticing the futility of economic sanctions, a ban on Russian gas and fuel,” the expert noted. According to him, European politicians are currently rethinking relations with Washington.
Bennett said the US side will persuade Europe to stand with loyalty through bullying, threats and instilling fear. He also suggested that Biden support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his doctrine. According to the expert, European countries will tacitly agree to the American line, following NATO’s policy of spiritual unity.
Earlier, Politico wrote that the central theme of Biden’s visit to Europe will be EU countries’ independence of gas and oil from Russia. On March 24, the US leader will participate in the NATO summit in Brussels and on March 25 he will meet the President of the Republic, Andrzej Duda, in Poland.
