Putin flew to Mariupol by helicopter, then took a break by visiting various districts of the city.
Deputy Prime Minister Khusnullin accompanied Putin on the trip.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the construction of micro-regions, social and educational facilities and health institutions continues.
According to the agency, in the Nevsky microdistrict, Putin met with the townspeople. He also studied the Mariupol coastline. As part of the trip, Khusnullin told Putin how Mariupol was restored.
“People started coming back. Seeing that the restoration was going on, people started to come back actively,” he said.
The city has plans to open its first tram line by this summer.
