DRC officials asked Putin to increase the number of peacekeepers in Karabakh

The Security Council of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin requesting an increase in the Russian peacekeeping force in the region. About reported On the Telegram channel of the NKR Information Center.

They noted that the current number of peacekeepers is insufficient to fully fulfill the mission in the DRC.

“In addition to reining in the current aggression of Azerbaijan and returning the Azerbaijani Armed Forces to their former positions, we ask you to review the number of existing Russian peacekeepers and the facilities serving them, and accordingly increase the number of military personnel. and military equipment,” the message says.

According to DRC officials, they are ready to establish working relations with peacekeepers and provide them with the necessary living conditions.

Former Russian President Vladimir Putin spent Two phone conversations with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on the situation in Karabakh. Negotiations were held on Thursday, March 24 and Friday, March 25.

On the eve, it was learned that the situation in Karabakh was discussed by the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Sergei Shoigu, and his Armenian counterpart, Suren Papikyan.

On March 22, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia announced that it had cut off gas supply to Nagorno-Karabakh in the Shushi city region of Azerbaijan, causing the people of the region to face a humanitarian crisis. According to the agency, 120,000 residents lost the necessary gas supply in conditions of cold weather and snowfall.
