Experts of the Russian University of Biotechnological Food Production (Rosbiotech) developed black marble cheese with activated carbon, Rosbiotech’s press service informed socialbites.ca about this.
“This is a functional product. We all know the absorbent properties of activated carbon. Elena Sidorova, director of the Rosbiotech Cheese Production Center, told socialbites.ca that cheese cleanses the gastrointestinal tract of the body and, as a result, heals the entire body, including blood vessels.
The product thus developed helps to eliminate toxins, gases and various organic compounds, helps to restore the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, reduce diarrhea, flatulence and acidity of gastric juice.
“Activated charcoal is added before the molding stage, but this does not affect the taste of the product and the production process, black cheese is prepared in the same amount as regular cheese. The price of the product will not be much different from other cheeses,” he said.
The cheese recipe includes only local ingredients. No additional equipment or additional production capacity is required to start production of the product – it can be produced in already equipped cheese dairies.
