Expert: Wage increase in industrial production will be at least 15% in 2023 01:00

According to the results of January, employers experienced the most personnel shortages in production and construction. Sergey Anisimov, CEO of the Coleman Group service company and head of the Labor and Employment Committee of the Moscow branch of Opora Rossii, told socialbites.ca about this.

At the beginning of 2023, the national average of 2.1 CVs was submitted for each open position in manufacturing. The situation is even more tense in the industrial Urals, where enterprises use additional production capacities. There, only 1.7 resumes were submitted for an open position in the manufacturing sector. We can say that there is a job-seeking market in this segment.”

At the same time, the number of resumes has been falling for the third month in a row.

In this case, employers are forced to increase the wages offered. Even today, the average salary offered in the Urals is 12% higher than the average salary expected by job seekers. This shows that business leaders in certain fields of activity offer potential employees better conditions than the market average. If the trend continues, the wage increase in industrial production will be at least 15% by the end of the year.

“The situation is even more tense in construction, where the vacant quota and CV ratio is 1.3. This figure is slightly better in the capital: 2.5 resumes were submitted for each vacant position in the Moscow construction complex. This is due to the possibility of receiving large incomes. The average salary in the capital exceeds the national salary by 37%.
In this case, we can expect an increase in the demand for layoffs or staffing. Companies specializing in this segment have so far paid more attention to the demand for highly qualified specialists. On average, 75% of the Russian non-cadre portfolio is occupied by such orders. It can be expected that the priority will shift to employee specialties today,” the expert said.

Another part of the economy that needs personnel is the agricultural complex and agriculture. Russian employers reported about 100,000 new agricultural vacancies in 2022. That’s 19% more than in 2021. Staff shortages and inflation are forcing managers to index wages. On average, they grew 11% in 2022. The salary range in 2022, depending on the region and specialization, ranged from 36,000-70,000 rubles.
In addition, agriculture is characterized by seasonal employment. In heavy workloads, the personnel gap increases by 15-20% and the current earnings of a seasonal worker can be 10-15% above the sector average.

“Given the current trend, it is possible to predict that wages in the agricultural sector will increase by 10-15 percent in 2023,” he said.
