VK Play playground conducted a survey among Russian students to find out how often they spend time playing video games and how much money they spend on it. socialbites.ca got acquainted with the results of the survey.
As it turns out, a third (33%) of respondents play games every day. Another 30% prefer to play once or twice a week. Once or twice a month, 8% of respondents play games.
At the same time, it turned out that 7% of them spend six hours or more a day playing games. More than half of them (60%) spend 1-3 hours in the virtual world, and every tenth of them spend their time more economically during the day and allocate up to 1 hour. The study also showed that participants liked playing with friends (48%) more than playing alone (36%). Despite the desire to play often, students are not ready to skip classes for the sake of play – 56% of respondents responded in this way.
According to most respondents, the most popular game genres in 2023 will be RPG (40%) and shooter (38%). Students’ favorite games include adventure games (32%), strategies (24%), and shooters (23%). RPG games (24%) rank higher than survival games (22%).
43% of students are ready to give up to 500 rubles per month for video games, 42% – from 500-1500, and 17% – up to 1500-3000 rubles, and a third of students at least once tried to earn money. video games and some of them managed to make money from their hobbies. 65% want to make esports a source of income.
