The team leader said that the Russian military first searches for cell phone subscribers, determines their location, and then sends them SMS to determine that they belong to a particular country. Its coordinates are then transmitted to the headquarters, where it is determined whether it will be “worked on” and whether additional reconnaissance with a camera plane is required.
He noted that the onboard equipment of the Russian Orlan-10 UAV allows the detection of GSM and LTE communication subscribers. The army emphasized that they detected enemy concentrations mainly in the fields, forests and roads.
