What’s new to see this week from the director of ‘CODA’, ‘Smiley’ and more

New series premiere every week, other well-known and loved ones return, and the schedule can easily become impossible. In this section, we make five recommendations from which in principle it is impossible to go wrong.

“Dark Matter (Season 3)” (HBO Max, Tuesday)

If Philip Pullman’s fantasy epic has a reputation for being “out of tune”, it’s mainly because of his third book, “The Laked Spyglass,” which is particularly difficult to visualize as invisible angels appear, among other things. One will have to rely on the fine art of screenwriter Jack Thorne (“The Virtues”, etc., etc.) and producer Jane Tranter (“Succession”), but their work has so far not been sufficient to make the film. the series is a favorite of critics or viewers.

LGTBI is the new universe of love stories. It’s kind of like our own ‘Heartstopper’.

“Doom Patrol (season 4)” (HBO Max, Friday)

One of the best recent adaptations of a DC comic, curiously enough, is not part of the DC Universe: ‘Doom Patrol’ is a bizarre, irreverent, and emotional translation to the screen of that supergroup of humans who took their powers. lives in tragic circumstances and away from the world. In this new season the team (reborn brendan fraser Cliff Steele, aka Robotman) inadvertently travels to the future and gets a nasty surprise.
