For players who felt Elden Ring could look better visually, modder Bardo introduced a Texture Improvement Project that adds a massive library of over 25GB of high-resolution textures. In the circulating screenshots, these new textures sit side by side with the original files, offering a clear comparison of detail and richness across environments.

The creator states that the mod effectively doubles the quality and resolution of textures, covering environmental elements, trees, rocks, paintings, and even clouds to deliver a noticeably sharper and more immersive world.

Regarding performance, the modder notes that this texture overhaul should not negatively impact frame rates if the system has at least 6 GB of VRAM, though there has been no testing on GPUs with less memory yet.

The Texture Improvement Project mod is available for download here.

Earlier, other mods featuring character models with mature aesthetics, including Lara Croft, Kasumi, and 2B, were released for Elden Ring, expanding the visual variety available to players.

Additionally, last week there was coverage about enabling ray tracing in Elden Ring. While some players hoped for dramatic enhancements, the results were mixed, and many experienced inconsistent performance or visuals. Fans have also discussed various cosplay models created by artists from different regions, which add new looks to the game’s world.
