Souls-like games often offer scarce resources and limited novelty, and Lords of the Fallen is no exception. Players can collect extra souls using a multiplier, but a single mistake can wipe progress. This guide explains the simplest and safest way to farm energy (souls) and navel scraps (currency for boss items). The plan is straightforward: find a comfortable setup and set aside some free time.
What is the easiest location to grow souls?
Bell Tower stands out as a strong hub for gathering resources. Tough enemies can be defeated quickly by leaping into the abyss. This tactic costs a bit of health but spares the player a grueling battle while delivering an immediate reward for the defeated foe. The floating platforms here disrupt the developers’ pacing a bit, adding a small twist to the approach.
Once there, eliminate the first monster by the normal method or simply sprint past and jump off the platform. After that, shift into the Umbral dimension.
Move to the right toward the floating platform. Pull it toward you, then head toward the center near the column. This position protects you from incoming flying projectiles, especially if the area needs to be evacuated.
Wait around six minutes for the Grim Reaper to appear. At that moment, players can target nearby enemies to clear the area later and avoid losing progress. Positioning matters, and beginners may not land on the optimal spot right away. For the first few appearances of the Reaper, staying in-game and observing the process is wise. A recommended position is shown in the accompanying screenshot.
When the eye icon in the upper-right corner turns red, an elite monster begins to attack every three minutes. If the elite monster happens to be on the platform, it will emerge on the cliff and immediately fall to its death. This yields resources as if the takedown happened directly and also boosts the soul production multiplier.
In addition to abundant energy, players receive a special resource exchangeable for boss items. A merchant dealing in such items appears later in the story, but note that this merchant is exclusive to the Umbral dimension.
