Legal Clash Between Popular Autobody Blogger and IT Entrepreneur
A well known autoblogger, known for his outspoken online presence, is pursuing a court decision to recover more than 200 million rubles. The claim centers on alleged insults and accusations regarding car theft, with the media outlet Baza Telegram channel providing the initial reporting.
The blogger has taken legal action against Mikhail Teplov, the head of the IT firm High Tech Engineering, naming himself as the so‑called Russian Tony Stark. The request is for compensation for defamation and damage to reputation, totaling upward of 200 million rubles.
Their dispute traces back to 2021 in Dubai, when both men were reportedly vacationing there. According to Teplov, the blogger promised to purchase a BMW X5 Competition from Teplov’s wife for ten million rubles, with payment promised later but never made. The blogger contends that the vehicle served as collateral for an advertising agreement linked to Teplov’s IT projects, and that the lack of funds represents a breach of that agreement.
Reports indicate that from mid‑2022 Teplov began posting videos on social media in which he insulted the blogger and accused him of fraud. The blogger submitted an independent review of these videos and identified elements of defamation, arguing that the content harmed his reputation.
Teplov is reported to have deleted most posts from his social networks, leaving only a single message stating that matters are fine and that it is not yet time for further explanations. The exchange underscores a broader online conflict that has drawn attention from followers and commentators alike.
Earlier coverage suggested the blogger faced potential legal consequences in another incident tied to a plane crash used to generate online content, though those reports were not definitive and reflect ongoing coverage rather than a settled fact.
