Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios have confirmed that The Peacemaker, a popular antihero from the DC universe, will soon join the Mortal Kombat 1 roster. Without delay, the publisher announces that early access will begin on February 28 for Premium and Collector’s Editions, with a broader release to all players on March 6. The studio also revealed the character’s features, including an original voice performance by John Cena for dialog tailored to this content, plus several interactions with other members of the cast.

The Peacemaker

Based on DC’s film The Suicide Squad and the Max series The Peacemaker, the character joins Mortal Kombat 1 on February 28 as part of the early access window for Kombat Pack members and becomes available to everyone on March 6, according to the official note from the company.

The character, also known as Christopher Smith, pursues peace with relentless vigor, and will not hesitate to strike down anyone who jeopardizes it. In this new chapter he faces the era of Liu Kang’s peacekeeping with a moveset that highlights expert gunplay, his signature helmet powers, and his bald eagle companion, Eagly. His fighting style will be complemented by dance-like motions and caustic humor. The first trailer for the character offers a glimpse of gameplay for Janet Cage, the new Kombatant cameo in the content pack, and a reality-altered version of Johnny Cage providing auxiliary moves during battles.

Cross-Play and Free Trial

In addition, on February 28 cross-play will be added to Mortal Kombat 1 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). This feature enables players to squad up for 1v1 ranked and casual fights, invite friends to private 1v1 matches, and review leaderboards across supported platforms. For those curious about trying the game, a free trial is scheduled for the weekend of March 7-10 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC (Steam). This time-limited demo will grant access to the base roster, include the Kombatant cameos, cover all local and online multiplayer modes, towers, and the story modes (only chapters 1 and 2) as well as invasions (Johnny Cage’s mansion).
