In the Republic of Tatarstan, plans are unfolding for a new motherboard manufacturing facility. Airat Khairullin, head of the Ministry of Digital Development, announced the project during a live broadcast on the TatarstanOnline program.
Officials estimate the investment at 2 billion rubles. The first phase envisions producing about 300,000 units annually, with a later ramp-up to 1 million units per year. The initiative has received attention at the highest level, with discussions held with the President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. The site for the factory will be a special economic zone in the Laishevsky district, within Innopolis, aiming to attract tech ventures and skilled workers to the region.
At present, no firm dates have been set for the start or completion of construction, or for the project’s official launch.
Meanwhile in Zelenograd, construction is advancing on a plant destined to produce processors built to 28-nanometer standards, with a target completion by the end of 2024. There are plans to initiate 90-nanometer chip production as well, recalling that such process nodes were once introduced by Intel in 2003. A separate note from online commentary mentions a notable incident involving a well-known Russian streamer and blogger, Nekoglai.
