Sony has officially announced that it will increase the prices of the PS5 in many regions. This decision is due to the difficult economic situation and global inflation. The company has already revealed updated pricing for the consoles (digital edition and powered version). Thus, the price in Europe will be increased by 50 euros (about 3000 rubles at the exchange rate at the time of writing the news).
The global economic environment is a challenge that many of you around the world no doubt face. We are seeing high global inflation and unfavorable currency trends hitting consumers and putting pressure on many industries. Given these challenging economic conditions, SIE has made the difficult decision to increase the MSRP for PlayStation 5 in select markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Canada. There will be no price increase in the US.

Here are the updated PS5 prices:
- Europe – Powered PS5 (€550) and PS5 Digital Edition (€450);
- UK – Powered PS5 (£480) and PS5 Digital Edition (£390);
- Japan – Powered PS5 (60,478 yen) and PS5 Digital Edition (49,478 yen)
- China – PS5 with disc (4299 yuan) and PS5 Digital Edition (3499 yuan);
- Australia – Powered PS5 (AU$800) and PS5 Digital Edition (AU$650)
- Mexico – Powered PS5 (MX$14,999) and PS5 Digital Edition (MX$12,499)
- Canada – Powered PS5 (CA$650) and PS5 Digital Edition (CA$520).
As for the Russian prices for the PS5, they went up in March. For example, in June we reported that M.Video and Eldorado sold a console with a disk for 80,000 rubles.
