The site of the Russian analogue of the Wikipedia encyclopedia called Runiversalis stopped working on the day of launch. Stanislav Kozlovsky, general manager of Wikimedia.Ru, told socialbites.ca that it would take about an hour to create a site similar to it. He suggested that the “Runiversalis” developers may have misconfigured it.

“It takes about an hour to replicate Wikipedia. The Mediawiki engine is freely published and Wikipedia transcripts are also published daily. The opportunity to make your own Wikipedia analogue is given to absolutely everyone. Even a schoolboy can do it. As for the site of the next “clone” of Wikipedia, they probably read the help carelessly and misconfigured something. “I think they’ll fix it soon,” he said.

On August 23, Russia launched a local analogue of Wikipedia called Runiversalis. The project was created by former Wikipedia editors. The project website states that the encyclopedia respects the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation and traditional values.
