Sony Interactive Entertainment reported on Twitter that sales of the PlayStation VR 2 helmet will begin in early 2023. This means an announcement at the end of this year or early next year. However, no other details are known yet. It is not known how much the helmet will cost and in which countries it will appear first.

At the same time, insiders also talked about the release of new items in 2023. True, it was noted that the start of sales will depend on the sale of games for this system. It is currently known that No Man’s Sky will get a VR version and Horizon Call of the Mountain will also be released.
The new device is expected to have a “Picture Through” option. It works with cameras and allows you to see the world around you without taking off your helmet. The novelty also gains the ability to follow the player’s gaze and scan the room to create a safe “play zone”.

Judging by previous data, the helmet will receive OLED screens with a resolution of 2000 x 2040 per eye (4K resolution in total) at a frequency of up to 120 Hz. Also promised are adjustable lenses and a single cable to connect to the console.
