Major Russian retailers have brought the latest Apple laptops to the country – MacBook Air based on M2. According to the newspaper “News”computers will be sold at a higher price – about 1.5 times more expensive than in Europe.

The new MacBook Air model in the Re:Store will cost 140 thousand rubles. In the version with 8 core GPU, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. In Apple-branded online stores in France and Germany, a similar model costs a little less than 1.5 thousand euros (about 89 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate).

Eldar Murtazin, a leading analyst at Mobile Research Group, explained that the rising prices on re:Store are related to the positioning of the network as a premium retailer. New laptops in small retail outlets cost about 108-120 thousand rubles.

In his opinion, such a difference in price (8-18%) is a relatively small margin. Murtazin concluded that this was due to the increase in the cost of logistics services and the purchase of goods abroad for import through parallel imports, not wholesale but retail.

Previously Apple’s agreed to pay A $50 million settlement deal for defective “butterfly” type keyboards on MacBook laptops.
