Samsung has announced a new flagship smartphone featuring the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with a foldable screen. socialbites.ca learned about this from the official broadcast of the Galaxy Unpacked show on YouTube.
The novelty received a large 7.6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1812 x 2176 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and support for HDR 10+. One of the highlights of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a redesigned hinge mechanism that makes the folding of the screen less visible than previous models in the series.
The external display is also an AMOLED matrix, but with a diagonal of 6.2 inches, a resolution of 904 x 2316 pixels and no HDR 10+ support. At the same time, the matrix is capable of developing a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
The performance of the smartphone is the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 4, which is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. At the same time, the Galaxy Z Fold has 12 GB more RAM instead of 8 GB. Persistent memory module starts from 256GB, not 128GB. In addition to the 256 GB version, the novelty will also be sold in 512 GB and 1 TB versions. Responsible for autonomy is a 4400 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 25 watts.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 also has an updated set of cameras. It includes a 50-megapixel main module, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.
The front camera written on the outer screen has a resolution of 10 megapixels. The second camera for selfies – located below the main screen – is 4 megapixels. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 uses an advanced pixel grid that makes the lens at the bottom of the screen even more invisible.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be available on August 26 with prices starting at $1,799.
