Foreign sources report that Apple may be delaying the release of the new iPhone 14. This is due to the geopolitical situation around Taiwan, where the main production lines of TSMC, Apple’s main chip supplier, are located.

The reason for the delay may be restrictions imposed by the Chinese authorities, as the Chinese Communist Party has banned the mention of Taiwan or the Republic of China (which the PRC does not recognize) in shipping documents. The fact is that some of the electronics are labeled “Made in Taiwan”, which allows them to send them back to the island.
Apple has already started negotiations with partners to remove the labeling and circumvent restrictions. However, it is not yet clear how long this will take.
