Due to the large number of posts containing false information produced by artificial intelligence, Wikipedia launched the WikiProject AI Cleanup project to detect, edit and delete AI texts. This was reported by TechSpot.

According to Ilyas Leblue, founder of WikiProject AI Cleanup, the problem became apparent when Wikipedia editors and users noticed sections of articles that were clearly written by AI. These suspicions were confirmed by playing some texts using ChatGPT.

A particularly striking example was the article about the non-existent Ottoman fortress of Amberlisihar. In the article, which is approximately 2 thousand words long, the location and construction of the imaginary object is explained in detail, while the fake information is made as convincing as possible by adding real facts.

LeBleu and colleagues note that the exact motivations of users who publish neural network-generated articles are unknown, but part of the problem lies in the structure of Wikipedia, which allows anyone to become an editor.

Formerly Wikipedia closed Silent Hill 2 Remake game page because of trolls.
