A stolen pair of AirPods helped US police find a serial gang of car thieves informs Apple Insider Portal.
Initially, it is stated that the police calculated the previously stolen AirPods using the Locator app. Data from the locator led police to a “suspicious” car, which, as it turned out, was listed as stolen. Law enforcement in Alameda County, California, assigned a plane to spy on the vehicle.
After a long chase, the suspects abandoned an unnamed 2018 Audi and attempted to flee to Berkeley.
Police arrested a man and a woman, aged 38 and 36, on suspicion of reckless driving, theft and possession of other people’s property, including several cars, and a number of other violations. Their names are not reported.
