From May to July, more than 600 fake sites for the clicker game Hamster Kombat, created to steal Telegram accounts, were discovered on the Internet. reports The Vedomosti publication cites a study by FACCT
One of the common schemes is to offer the user access to an official bot to sell coins or withdraw savings in rubles. To do this, you need to log in to Telegram, after which the account falls into the hands of hackers.
Also dangerous is the use of skimmers, a software that allows attackers to access victims’ crypto wallets and withdraw their digital assets. Deceived players can connect TON wallets to criminal applications, thus gaining full control over wallet transactions.
A similar situation is seen in other popular clicker games like Blum and DOGS. In Blum, users are invited to participate in a promotion with an internal currency draw and then connect their crypto wallet to the attackers’ app, resulting in the loss of all their cryptocurrency. In DOGS, users are automatically paid based on the “age” of their Telegram account, and a wallet connection is required to claim the reward.
FACCT analysts also noted that attackers used the popular Notcoin game and invited participants to participate in drawings/distributions of NOT tokens. Over May-July, more than 1,000 fake resources were discovered where users were asked to connect their wallets to receive rewards.
