Severstal company conducted the first tests of the Deep Robotics robot dog at its production facilities. The tests were carried out on the territory of two company enterprises. In this regard reports Prime agency.
During the test, the robot demonstrated its ability to navigate the terrain, transfer metal samples using a manipulator arm and monitor compliance with safety regulations. As a practical application, it delivered briquettes of refractory mass directly to the point of use in the blast furnace foundry.
According to company representatives, thanks to modern computer vision, 3D profiling and LiDAR technologies, the robot dog can perform various tasks, including measuring objects, moving objects weighing up to 40 kg, conducting inspections and diagnosing equipment. It is capable of checking the availability of personal protective equipment for employees, conducting thermal imaging and gas analytical studies, creating maps for the development of digital twins of enterprises.
Severstal plans to continue testing the robot dogs at other production sites.
