Shadow of the Erdtree, the new expansion for the popular role-playing game Elden Ring, has been released on the Steam platform to mixed reviews. Analyst Daniel Ahmad suggested that most of the negative comments were written by Chinese players and there is an explanation for this. In this respect reports DTF printing.

Ahmad, an expert in analyzing the gaming market in Asia, realized that his opinion may not coincide 100% with reality, but Chinese players complain mainly about the high complexity of the add-on, while Western players classify it as various problems, including optimization.

Chinese players find the game “too unfair”, often leading to negative reviews. One of the reasons for such an emotional response is the lack of helpful Chinese guides to the passage.

Additionally, Ahmad believes that users in China have a different attitude towards reviews on Steam. Since the Steam Community portal is blocked in the country, they see them as a place to comment. Therefore, it is not uncommon for Chinese players to use reviews to talk about a particular aspect of a game.
