A blogger from the NJ Tech YouTube channel tested the AMD RX 580 and NVIDIA GTX 1660 Super budget video cards in Full HD resolution in a number of popular video games. In this respect reports Ferra portal.
The RX 580 averaged 113 frames per second (fps) in Apex Legends on custom settings using TSAA, while the GTX 1660 Super achieved an average of 155 fps.
At minimum graphics settings with FSR2 Quality enabled, the Alan Wake 2 game ran at 17 fps on the RX 580, while the GTX 1660 Super provided 55 fps.
Similar tests were conducted in other games such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, Counter Strike 2, Elden Ring, Hellblade 2, Horizon Forbidden West and Hogwarts Legacy, where the GTX 1660 Super showed the best results. Compared to RX 580.
The overall average fps across the 15 games tested was 64fps for the RX 580 and 90fps for the GTX 1660 Super; This indicates a performance difference of 41%. It was noted that the test was carried out on a computer with an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 processor and 16 GB DDR5 RAM.
